£1 Per Entry & Ticket Sale Will Go To Daisy Chains. We Will Announce How Much Was Raised At Our Awards Ceremony Held In September 2026.
On 12th November 2018, our world changed forever. Our beautiful boy, Hartley, made his arrival far too soon — born at just 26 weeks via emergency C-section, weighing only 1lb 1oz. Doctors told us he was the size of a 22/23-week baby, and from that moment, we knew the road ahead would be full of challenges.
The following day, we sat down with consultants who gently explained that it would be touch and go. Our tiny boy was fighting the biggest battle of his life.
It was during this time we first heard about Daisy Chains Children’s Charity. At first, we were reluctant to accept help — we’ve always been the ones who give to charities, not receive from them. But Daisy Chains became a lifeline for our family. Their kindness lifted burdens we didn’t even realise we were carrying.
They covered the ferry travel costs, booked crossings so we could be by Hartley’s side, and made sure we never felt alone. At a time when I was out of work and money was incredibly tight, their support meant we could focus entirely on our son. They helped us through every hospital stay, every appointment, and every moment of uncertainty.
When Hartley needed a tracheostomy and long-term ventilation at home, we had so much to learn before bringing him back. Daisy Chains even helped my husband travel weekly so he could be with us — something that made all the difference during such a fragile time.
Their care goes far beyond what words can describe. They don’t just support children — they wrap their arms around entire families, bringing light and love when it’s needed most. Mandy and Kellie are two incredible ladies whose compassion truly changes lives.
Hartley is 7 years old now — a bright, happy, and truly remarkable boy. His laughter fills our home, and every milestone reminds us how far he’s come.
We’ll forever be grateful to Daisy Chains for being there when we needed them the most — they are the heart of hope for so many Island families like ours. 💛
